The much-awaited ETC Labs Launch Event held at the ETC Labs office in San Francisco on October 25th, 2018, was a phenomenal success. United by their firm belief in the transparency and immutability of the ETC blockchain, more than 100 ETC enthusiasts attended the event, including ETCDEV, ETC Cooperative, IOHK and other key players in the industry.

A full house at the ETC Labs Launch event, an evening of learning, networking, and collaboration

ETC Labs is among the first incubators to accelerate innovative projects on the Ethereum Classic Blockchain. The main focus of the launch was the introduction of the six startups associated with the ETC Labs Pilot Program to potential investors and the wider ETC community. The event also proved to be an evening of collaboration, networking, discussing new ideas, and learning more about the projects the startups are working on. The six startups, Button Wallet, VRex Lab, AnyLog, GSC Platform, Scanta, and Quarrio have already been working out of the ETC Labs office starting October 1, 2018, and presented their projects to much appreciation from the assembled guests.

During the meeting, the Chairman of ETC Labs, James Wo; CEO, Terry Culver; and Program Director, Elizabeth Kukka, introduced the purpose, objectives, and outlook of ETC Labs to the participants. Igor Artamonov, Founder and Tech Lead of ETCDEV, provided guidance on building projects on ETC.

ETC Labs plans to grow the ETC ecosystem by offering startups in the ETC space access to great ideas, a strong developer team, and funding to take their ideas to the next level by making direct investments and connecting them to a network of collaborators, investors, and supporters.

The goal is to build innovative applications on Ethereum Classic’s immutable and decentralized blockchain. Building on ETC has a lot of advantages: Projects that build on ETH can be built on ETC too, ETC is amongst the top 10 blockchains and has one of the largest network activity. It is also the longest running smart contract blockchain in existence. With the improvement of the ecosystem and the increase in the size of the community, ETC Labs believes that Ethereum Classic will have more intrinsic value and a brighter future.

We believe that the path ahead for Ethereum Classic looks promising, and innovative startups, such as those supported by ETC Labs, will drive its development even further.
