What is Cryzen?

Cryzen is an algorithmic trading platform for cryptocurrencies. Users can develop arbitrary trading algorithms all through an online bot development environment. To put that in perspective and visualize it, you could view it as your crypto trading assistant.

How did you come up with the idea for Cryzen?

Shuvro Biswas and Dr. Kirill Kanshin started building crypto trading bots out of a coffee shop in January 2018. Fairly quickly, it became obvious that there were a lot of tedious requirements not essential to trading logic such as data collection, and interfacing with various cryptocurrency exchanges that could be abstracted away into a platform. Joining forces with Dr. Robin Raymond shortly thereafter, the trio started down the path to create the most sophisticated and feature rich cryptocurrency algorithmic trading platform in existence. Along the journey, they were met by many talented engineers, business developers, and advisers.

Shuvro has a background in applied and theoretical machine learning and artificial intelligence. In the past, he has worked on natural language processing systems to automate data classification processes in procurement for Spend360 and Coupa leading to a successful exit. Shuvro is currently leading business development efforts, architecting and designing the Cryzen machine learning platform, and spearheading the long-term AI first approach of Cryzen.

Robin and Shuvro

Dr. Robin Raymond completed his Ph.D. in Mathematics on gauge theory and differential geometry. Since his youth, he has been keen to pick up many programming languages, including functional programming languages, and even spearheaded the NixOS open source mail server. Robin is currently leading the development of the core trading platform to power all trading algorithms on Cryzen. On his spare time, Robin is an avid Go player. He into got into cryptocurrency after reading the bitcoin whitepaper during his years as a young Ph.D. student and has been following the technological innovations in the crypto space since.

Dr. Kirill Kanshin achieved his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Padova based on his research on possible extensions of the standard model of particle physics and physics of the Higgs boson. Since then, he has been sharpening his skills in data science that later were applied to cryptocurrency trading and portfolio optimization. Kirill is now working on the architecture of the platform and data collection systems powering Cryzen. Further, Kirill is developing template indicators and algorithms to be utilized by users of the platform.

Users have an entire bot development environment at their fingertips, and on the cloud, so they never have to download a piece of software.

Brian Lora has a background in sales and software development. Throughout his time as a B2B sales associate for a Verizon partner, he learned negotiation and team management skills. Although he enjoyed his time in sales, his ultimate interest was always in software and technology, leading him to study Computer Science at Columbia University. As fate would have it, he is now the Business Development Manager at Cryzen.

What is the market opportunity for algorithmic trading?

To put things into context, 80% of all equity trading is executed through algorithmic trading. This isn’t only because of the ease of use, but also because of a growing need to react to data at lightning fast speeds. Crypto markets need this even more, because they are available 24/7. The trend clearly shows that institutional investors have been taking advantage of the benefits of algo-trading. Such financial instruments are often out of the reach of the average person, restricted either by wealth and/or jurisdiction. Cryzen’s trading platform is a first-in-class solution, accessible to traders of all experience levels.

Day traders without programming knowledge can still deploy a strategy, all through a simple interface

Let’s talk tech. What stands out as impressive with what you are doing?

In just 10 months, we went from an idea to a fully functional platform. Building an algorithmic trading platform is a very complex project, not to mention one with machine learning capabilities. Users have an entire bot development environment at their fingertips, and on the cloud, so they never have to download a piece of software.

The ability to develop and train predictive machine learning models independently from the development of trading logic is powerful. Users can generate a repertoire of predictive models and mix and match them in any way with existing or upcoming algorithms they plan to develop.

What is the Cryzen competitive advantage?

The Cryzen platform is the simplest and most flexible platform on the market. Day traders without programming knowledge can still deploy a strategy, all through a simple interface. A variety of trading bots to start from, some trade based upon popular indicators such as the MACD & RSI, whereas others trade based on simple market statistics. Also, machine learning based trading models are supported, something that is not available on any other platform presently.

What made you turn to ETC Labs for support, and what are your expectations from this collaboration?

We felt that collaborating with Ethereum Classic Labs was a great fit due to the program’s beliefs, team, and culture. ETC Labs has a team full of experienced professionals in the space, providing a great opportunity for us to learn and grow under adequate guidance. Since joining, we’ve enjoyed the pleasure of working with various bright minds that have given us tremendous insight.

What is the next big milestone coming up?

In the next month, we will introduce hyper-parameter optimizations. Users will be able to create a strategy, then test over several iterations with different values for the parameters to find the optimal solution. Shortly after, we will work on the Cryzen App — an interactive mobile application made to give traders the power of algo trading in their pockets.

Cryzen is also running an Associate Initiative to reward the most active community members

If you’d like to apply to be a Cryzen associate, kindly send an email to pr@cryzen.com with the following subject “Associate program” and information: name, social media accounts and any other mediums you intend to promote on. Upon review, we will respond with the steps to move forward and the associate’s referral code.
