What is Scanta?
Scanta harnesses the power of augmented reality and blockchain technology to build innovative experiences with an aim to disrupt the way people live, learn, and communicate. This new way of communication is made possible by using AR avatars called Pikamojis, which gives users the opportunity to interact with 100+ unique AR characters and animations. The Scanta team is working hard on developing a creator studio where anyone can create their own interactive augmented reality experiences and have complete ownership over them. Pikamoji is an app that gives anyone the ability to create engaging and unique AR experiences that can be shared with friends and through social media. Pikamojis are a manifestation of moods, emotions, and expressions for users. This fun content creation and sharing app allows anyone to experiment, experience, and engage with the magic of augmented reality.

AR Mapping
Scanta is paving the way for new experiences with advanced cloud anchoring technologies, making it possible to experience shared augmented reality visualizations amongst various devices and with friends. AR maps pave the way for Scanta’s immersive futuristic gaming platform and commercial AR use cases.
Blockchain Technology
Scanta provides the first industry use case for storing user-generated avatars as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) through their blockchain technology. This decentralized ownership will rightfully empower and benefit Pikamoji creators and users.
How did the idea come about? How did the team come together?
We wanted to create a day-to day use case for augmented reality, something beyond scanning QR codes in 2016. We wanted to appeal to a mass market and create a solution for smartphones. This led us to start working on Pikamojis, which marry augmented reality and social media.

At Scanta, we value diversity and believe that in order to create an innovative business environment, we had to focus on building a team with individuals from different backgrounds and work experience. Our team consists of professionals who have worked in over 13 countries and have deep expertise in various industries. We have a diverse team of professionals from Salesforce, UBS Investment Bank, Samsung and many other Fortune 500 companies.
We treasure each person’s personal journey and unique perspective that inspires and invigorates the creative process for us to build new AR tools and experiences for our users. It is essential for us to constantly be innovating, as we are building the next generation of AR technology and tools for the masses themselves to create new content and engage with the world in a new way.
What is a real world news event or example you would reference to show the importance of this project and its impact?
Millennials are loving the Pikamoji app. Students are augmenting AR Avatars in their classrooms and sharing videos over instagram and Tic Tok this opens up interesting possibilities
We foresee AR avatars as a critical component in communication…and we’re in the process of partnering with one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world.
Lets talk tech. What stands out as impressive with what you are doing?
While being a technology innovator, we believe our approach to our industry is different than our competitors that will eventually set us apart. We view ourselves as a social impact company that will change the way we communicate and interact with each other through the application of our AR technology. We strive to consistently ask ourselves, “How does our technology affects our users in their everyday lives and how we can create deeper connections with the world around us?”
Using this mindset, we drive ourselves to constantly anticipate how we enable new forms of social communication and interaction between people, and eventually how they interact with the world around them essentially having their own reality augmented with our technology.
AR as entertainment could enhance our sensory perceptions, give us access to additional information, and create a hybrid world that contains the best of reality and imagination.
We have developed unique AR technology and are looking to take it to the next level by integrating these technologies with Blockchain.
What is Scanta’s competitive advantage?
Pikamojis are unique AR Avatars created by the team at Scanta that introduced rear-facing camera computer vision environment mapping. We have developed the biggest library of AR avatars in the world we call them Pikamojis. This is our library of 100 + unique characters and IP’s stored over the blockchain.
We foresee AR avatars as a critical component in communication through smartphones and messenger applications and we’re in the process of partnering with one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world.

Why Ethereum Classic?
Ethereum Classic has shown that their network is truly immutable. This blockchain implements the “code is law” rule and shows that it is free from external interference and subjective tampering of transactions.
The inheriting of the Ethereum Virtual Machine enables us to create and test smart contracts using standardized formats like erc20 and erc721. The sidechain implementation of Ethereum Classic will make inter-operability between blockchains possible. This will give users the freedom to choose their crypto currency of choice on the Ethereum Classic network.

We aim to connect with relevant partners that are aligned with our vision such as ETC Labs and help us continue our journey.
What is the next big milestone coming up?
Releasing our SDK, which allows seamless integration of our Avatars with third party apps. Coming soon!
