The makers of Kydys talk about their next plans for the Dyverse
What is the Dyverse by VREX Lab?
The Dyverse is a marketplace for virtual beings called Kydys. This marketplace is linking non-fungible tokens to AR (augmented reality) assets such as characters or avatars in order to provide transparent and lasting ownership for digital items that can create content for social media. Our mission with the Dyverse is to use AR/VR content as a means to create a new form of communication and deepen relationships between users.
How did you come up with the idea for the Dyverse?
Rudy and Ricky as well as two of the VREX Lab team members met during their time at the Korean Air Force. They have all been excited about the blockchain for a couple years and crypto investors themselves. The Dyverse came to fruition when they decided to merge their passion and interest for blockchain with their knowledge of augmented reality.

Tell us about your team and their experience
VREX Labs has offices in Seoul and Shanghai and the team is comprised of 15 team members coming from 6 different countries. Our team is mostly made up of developers and designers that are all invested in blockchain and game enthusiasts. Combined we have 100 years of experience in tech and content industry. A whole existence worth of experience!
Your Kydys can be freely plugged into different games
Let’s talk tech. What stands out as impressive with what you are doing?
We are the only company that has successfully released a popular Dapp that enables users to create content using AR. We have an exciting roadmap for 2019; we will release an AR streaming service within the first half of the year that also uses non-fungible tokens.
Our unique tech has allowed us to partner with successful blockchain gaming companies like Enjin and we have other major partnerships in the pipeline as well.
ETC’s consistent commitment to immutability and decentralization resonates with us as we are interested in non-fungible tokens and the use of the blockchain for virtual assets to be used in content creation and entertainment.
What is the VREX Labs competitive advantage?
The vast majority of non-fungible token related Dapps offer very limited extensibility, gameplay or interaction. On the other hand through our UGC (user-generated content) we offer infinite possibilities for users to create their own content. As the Dyverse is not a game per se, game developers are not our competitors but our partners. We can thus collaborate with other non-fungible type token games or Dapps, use their IP and allow their community of users to create UGC through our technology. This creates a bigger universe where our Kydys can be freely plugged into different games and the same goes for items and assets from other games that can be integrated into our Dapp.
Why Ethereum Classic?
We grew more interested in ETC due to its potential and positive measures taken by core teams like ETC Labs or ETCDEV. ETC’s consistent commitment to immutability and decentralization resonates with us as we are interested in non-fungible tokens and the use of the blockchain for virtual assets to be used in content creation and entertainment.
What made you turn to ETC Labs for support, and what are your expectations from this collaboration?
We were very lucky to have met Liz Kukka in Silicon Valley during a conference where Rudy our co-founder presented the Dyverse. After the conference Liz approached Rudy and they began talking about a potential collaboration. After that we joined ETC Labs’ Pilot Program in October. We were really fortunate to have been selected as part of the first cohort as ETC Labs has been really helpful in offering not only technical but also strategic and marketing support. We hope to serve as a great example that shows how blockchain can serve as a way to disrupt virtual content and through our great products, we hope to inspire other startups to enter ETC Labs’ program.
What is the next big milestone coming up?
When we publicly unveiled the Dyverse market in mid-January we were positioned as the number 2 NFT Dapp in the world. Ever since the launch we have consistently been one of the top NFT Dapps in the world and we are now striving to reach similar results for the new AR live-streaming service that we mentioned earlier. Its launch would be the next exciting milestone for VREX Lab.
