Recently, Ethereum Classic Labs Executive Director, Liz Kukka, gave a keynote presentation at Infiom Salon in Los Angeles. Infiom Salons are an open, thriving community connecting Fortune 500 companies with rapidly developing blockchain and disruptive technology ventures. Presenting companies are focused on fundraising and/or business development in disruptive technology areas including blockchain, AI, and AR/VR.

Liz shared an overview of the Ethereum Classic Labs Accelerator and the resources provided to participating startups. She focused on the importance of interoperability, noting that a single blockchain will not be the primary solution for all use cases.

During her talk, she also shared updates on the ETC Labs Cohort I companies:

  • (2) startups were acquired, one by a media/gaming company and the second by a digital asset exchange.
  • (1) startup folded due to the high cost of product development causing margin losses.
  • (1) startup has launched on the Ethereum Classic mainnet and now has an ETC token pair.
  • (1) startup closed their Seed round at $1.3M with 20+ SMB customers
  • (1) startup is about to close their Seed round at $2M. They have been building white label wallet solutions for well known exchanges like Binance.

Other startup presenters at Infiom Salon included:

  • VDO Chain — a video virtualizing solution
  • Temtum — a quantum security backed blockchain
  • Agua Via — a technology that purifies water at low energy and low cost
  • Omnisparx — a community organizing and optimizing platform.

These are teams that Ethereum Classic Labs would review for potential Investment, the accelerator, or the grants program.
