Welcome back to your monthly update on everything SafeStake! June was a whirlwind of activity, and July is shaping up to be even more thrilling. We have plenty of exciting news to share with you, from the latest testnet updates to upcoming community events. This newsletter is your trusted source for all the latest developments and updates at SafeStake as we continue our journey towards mainnet launch.
Now, without further ado, let’s dive into what’s new!
A few weeks back, the dev team announced the release of SafeStake Testnet v3.2.2, with several fixes and optimizations included:
• Fixed the issue where network connections were not being released.
• Optimized the logic for monitoring public IP changes.
• Removed the memory limit for the operator in the Docker compose file.
The vast majority of operators have already upgraded and are ready for the final 30 days of testing, which begins TODAY (July 1)!!! During this period, operators must become verified and maintain a consistent minimum performance rating of 90% to receive an invitation to participate in the Private Mainnet launch.
If all goes according to plan, the launch of SafeStake on Ethereum mainnet will happen on or around August 1, 2024!
Important note: The recently introduced 5/7 operator committee construct (7 operators in the committee with 5 required to be online for the validator to attest properly) has shown lower overall node performance vs. the classic 3/4 operator committee construct we have been testing since the beginning. Therefore: 1) only performance from validators that have chosen 3/4 operator committees will be included when calculating the minimum 90% node performance requirement for operators to be invited to private mainnet and; 2) we may opt to remove the 5/7 operator committee option when SafeStake launches and reintroduce the option at a later date, after more testing and optimization have been completed.
Currently, our testnet numbers are better than ever with 64 operators and 545 validators participating and 17,440 HolETH staked!

Exciting news! $DVT close to realizing mainnet utility!
For many months, we have been talking about how $DVT is a utility token with two main use cases: payment and governance. It is not a meme coin. Validators use the token to pay operators to perform duties on their behalf, and token holders have the ability to connect their wallet to Snapshot to vote on SafeStake governance proposals.
While the token’s primary use case as a payment device has been thoroughly tested, it has meant very little relative to its potential value. When the SafeStake Private Mainnet launch happens, everything will change.
While validators will enjoy free use of our DVT platform for the first 60 days, the SafeStake DAO will cover all validator fees to operators. This means operators will get paid in real DVT tokens, allowing them to monetize their services on SafeStake for the first time. When $DVT becomes a real-world payment device, it is expected that supply and demand will kick-in and determine its value moving forward.*
