Welcome back to your monthly scoop on all things SafeStake! May was an exciting month and June is already buzzing with activity, so we’re excited to share the latest developments! From testnet updates to community events, this newsletter is your reliable go-to source for the latest and greatest from SafeStake as we gear up for some exciting times ahead. Now, without further delay, let’s dive into what’s new!
For SafeStake on Holesky v3.1, May was a month of growth, with a significant increase in the total number of operators and validators. As always, a picture is worth a thousand words:
A huge thank you to everyone who has set up an operator node or imported a validator into the SafeStake testnet! Your dedicated efforts and contributions during these final days of pressure testing are invaluable. Keep up the focus, as your hard work and testing are soon to transition into a mainnet reality!
It is important to note that while we are still pushing toward reaching the baseline performance goal of 20 verified operators with node performance of 95% or better, it seems there is at least one mitigating factor to consider when looking at overall node performance and determining the final date for private mainnet launch.
While mid-late May saw lower than expected node performance, in many cases, this lower performance was not actually due to nodes underperforming. Instead, it appears to be more the result of how node performance is calculated. To explain, it seems that a significant number of validators did not renew their initial subscription fee by adding $DVT. This caused their operator committees to stop attesting for them, leaving them inactive. Since the current performance calculation accounts for all validators associated with a node, these inactive validators subtracted from overall performance.
The Road to Mainnet Campaign points and leaderboards are live and available for viewing on Zealy! Congrats to the All Time and Current Sprint front runners! Keep up the great work; your efforts on social media are getting noticed! If you’re not in the top 10, don’t worry, there’s still time to increase your points!
Sprint 2 is underway, so if you’re not participating, you’re simply missing out! Complete challenges that help promote, test, or increase your knowledge about SafeStake and earn XP you can swap for $DVT after the campaign ends. Choose from all kinds of fun and exciting challenges: social media activities such as following the official SafeStake Twitter/X account and liking, commenting on, or retweeting our posts; subscribe to this newsletter; create a meme or infographic; invite your friends!
You can earn more XP by getting more involved! For example, attend our Twitter Spaces sessions and listen for the secret word (250 XP), or set up a validator (500 XP) or operator node (1000 XP) on SafeStake on Holesky testnet.

Zero Fees for Early Birds!
In a move to supercharge our mainnet launch, we’re offering an exclusive benefit for validators who join during the private mainnet stage. For the first 60 days following our initial mainnet launch, the SafeStake DAO will cover all validator $DVT fees. Mainnet validators are normally responsible for paying these fees to the operators in the committee attesting for their validator(s).
If you’re an early adopter, this is the perfect opportunity to maximize your returns while contributing to the robustness and growth of the decentralized SafeStake network.
