We Are Millions — Operator’s Day — Recap
“Operator’s Day” marked the beginning of the final week of the We Are Millions Hackathon (WAM) and Festival. The more practical nature of this day was brought forward with workshops and demos focused on how to run nodes in different networks.
You’ll find a short recap of each talk from “Operator’s Day” below, along with corresponding time-stamped videos.
Don’t forget, the event is coming to a close soon. This is your last chance to catch some of the lively on- and off-stage action, either by following the live talks, panels and workshops or joining the Fair Data Society Discord server.
Run your Bee node
A quick and easy introduction to how to set up a light Bee node in an effortless manner.
Fluence: how to set up your Fluence node
An introductory talk about the Fluence network. It provides an overview of the current state of decentralised computing and how Fluence’s p2p computing model fits in. It also explains how it decouples dApp authorship from ownership and enables a code creator economy.
Avado demo: running a Swarm data node
Avado provides specialised HW and SW that allows you to easily run and manage different network nodes. This workshop demonstrates how to easily run a Swarm node with Avado.
How to run a NYM node
In this demo, the NYM team shows how to become a node operator in their network. NYM runs a multi-layered network called a mixnet. In each layer of the mixnet, mix nodes mix your internet traffic with that of other users, making communications private and hiding your metadata.
