This year marks the first ether.fi xmas and we want to celebrate by spreading xmas cheer to the Ethereum community.
We’re running a contest with our good friend Sassal Santa and we’ll be giving out some amazing prizes — dappnodes, staked ETH, hardware wallets and more!
The goal is to help promote Ethereum decentralization with some xmas cheer, so all the prizes will follow that theme.
We’re not doing this to shill anything and you don’t need to stake with ether.fi to participate, we’re just doing this as a fun tribute to the community to help promote our values.
Contest Rules
We’re going to be giving out prizes to 10 different winners.
Between today and midnight GMT Dec 24 we want people to submit a short video or tweet thread explaining:
- Why you love Ethereum.
- Why decentralization is important for the health of the network.
- What you’ve personally done to support it.
Submissions will be rated by average scores of:
- Sassal Santa
- Solo-stakers from Operation Solo-Staker
- ether.fi
The evaluation criteria:
- Creativity of video/thread (score 1–10)
- Decentralization pitch (score 1–10)
- Contribution to Ethereum (score 1–10)
The deadline for submission is Dec 24 at midnight GMT! and you need to tag ether_fi, sassal and add #sassalsanta so we can track submissions. We’ll periodically retweet and comment on submissions that are funny and creative, but that doesn’t guarantee that the’ll be winners — it all comes down to the scores.
The winners will be announced on twitter Dec 26th on a livestream on twitter.

Commitment to Decentralization
ether.fi has been committed to decentralization from the very start. We are the first protocol where the stakers get to control their keys, and we have been supporting Ethereum decentralization with Operation Solo-Staker.
Everything we do is driven by our principles that are laid out in our whitepaper:
- Decentralization is a primary objective. We will never compromise on the non-custodial and decentralized nature of the protocol. Stakers must maintain control of their ETH.
- The ether.fi protocol is a real business with a sustainable revenue model. We’re in this for the long haul. We think and plan on the scale of decades. No ponzinomics f*ckery.
- We will do the right thing for the Ethereum community, always. If and when we mess up, we will own it and course correct quickly.
