Etherisc Weekly Update
Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022
đź“Ł Dear Etherisc Community,
🚀 Welcome to another edition of the Etherisc Weekly Community Update. As promised, we have some development updates this week for you, including an update on the Etherisc staking model — which is progressing nicely! We also discuss our work towards the third utility for the DIP token — DIP as a governance token. We will provide further updates on this in the coming weeks. In addition, we shared an exciting blog recapping the details of our D1 Conf, the leading decentralized insurance event co-hosted by Etherisc and Nexus Mutual last week in Amsterdam as a part of the Ethereum Devconnect gathering.
🎆 New Blog — D1 Conference Amsterdam Recap:
If you could not make the D1 Conference Amsterdam event, fear not! We are excited to share with you our latest blog post which offers a recap of the event and what the team at Etherisc got up to. The blog post summarizes the keynotes from representatives of leading global traditional insurance industry players and crypto native startups, with video links to all presentations available. These links and more info about the event can also be found at d1conf.com. For those of you who made the journey to Amsterdam, we would like to say a huge thank you — your support has made all of this possible!
🪄 Join our Discord
In big news, we are finally making the leap to Discord, with the launch of our Discord server coming very soon. Keep your eyes peeled on Etherisc social channels as we will be celebrating the launch of our Discord later this week, with lots of exciting content to come! As a special thank you to our community, DIP Token holders will also receive access to exclusive content upon making the move. We are very excited about Etherisc’s upcoming developments and look forward to sharing these with all of you — and also some fun and music.
đź› Product Development & Staking
We are continuing to work on finalizing the Etherisc staking model and hope to have an in-depth update on this for you in the coming weeks. We are currently testing the staking model on the application and will soon begin testing its implementation via smart contracts. This runs alongside our work on the Solidity implementation, which will soon be used in a closed alpha with FlightDelay. For now, the actual prototype at staking.etherisc.com is open to community members to operate on and test for themselves. We encourage you all to check it out! For more insight in the staking model please watch the talk of Christoph at D1conf https://youtu.be/gQMt5adlpRA
🤝 Community Governance
Alongside our progress on staking, our work towards implementing DIP as a governance token has also begun. The introduction of DIP as a governance token will act as a platform governance model where participants have voting power based upon tokens owned, which will ensure a strong but neutral authority is in place on the Etherisc platform. Governance will act as the third utility for the DIP token–besides stalking for services and staking for risk pools. We won’t go into depth about the details of this in today’s update but stay tuned for the release of full details on how it works in the coming weeks!
