🚀 Welcome to another Etherisc weekly community update! For today’s update, we primarily focus on our roadmap for the year ahead, while also rounding up some coverage for Etherisc in the news and within industry reports. We’ve just released a new Etherisc 2022 Roadmap blog on our website that we encourage you to check out for more details in addition to the update below.
🔮 Etherisc 2022 Roadmap
Etherisc had an amazing 2021 with lots of progress and key milestones achieved. We also kicked off this year with the long-awaited launch of FlightDelay! As the FlightDelay launch has been a major focus for the team, we thought now would be a good time to share insight into what else lies ahead for Etherisc this year. ⊛ FlightDelay Roadmap
Major planned updates include the addition of Fiat payment gateways, the onboarding of distribution partners and staking integration.
⊛ Scaling Etherisc Impact Solutions
Scaling Etherisc Impact’s work by identifying and collaborating with new global inclusive insurance partners and refining our core product to improve its suitability across regions.
⊛ Growing Etherisc’s Team
As we grow our ecosystem, it’s vital our team grows in-line to ensure the same quality service and experience.
⊛ Strengthening and Expanding Partnerships
In 2022, we will not only strengthen our existing partnerships, but also create new ones with leaders in the insurance, blockchain and the wider industry.
⊛ Risk Pools & Staking
Work on finalizing the staking process and establishing an appropriate legal model is expected to be completed this year, marking a significant step for the core utility of the DIP token, while risk pools will provide an end-to-end integrated ecosystem for Etherisc ecosystem products.

In case you missed it, our FlightDelay product was featured in Chainlink Today this weekend, placing a spotlight on the benefits of decentralized flight insurance and how we utilize Chainlink Data Feeds to populate our product with premium flight data. In other news, Etherisc Impact’s work with ACRE Africa was featured in Mercy Corps Ventures’ 2021 Annual Impact Report, read it here.
We’re proud to be working with The Mercy Corps Ventures Team and this is a hugely important report on their efforts to enable all communities to prepare for and respond to climate disaster. Check out the report in full which includes a spotlight on our use of smart contract weather index insurance for smallholder farmers in Kenya.
📆 Etherisc at DevConnect Amsterdam — 21st April 2022
Save the date! Etherisc will be present at DevConnect Amsterdam this April and would love to meet any members of the community who also plan on attending. While we can’t share much details yet, we will be hosting an event on April 21st so mark your calendars! We’ll share more info on what we have planned closer to the date.
