This week’s recap

  • Official Store Clearance Sale
  • Opensea Collections
  • Upcoming Changes to Battle Ladder 6
  • Ethermon Discord Server Upgrades
  • Legend PFP Updates
  • Upcoming Events

Official Store Clearance Sale

When we first transitioned from minting Mons on Ethereum to Polygon, we launched a new collection of Mons called the Prismatic release set. This was followed by a second Polygon set, Genesis Reborn, which were slightly altered clones of 169 Mons from the OG Genesis set of Mons on Ethereum.

Now, we are preparing for the next era of Ethermon — defined by the launch of the Legend PFP collection, a new set release of 100 Mons, and even Mon design competitions!

To clear the way for all these updates, we will be ending the sale of all Mons in the Official Ethermon Store except Gasons, which will be available until sold out. These Polygon Mons will be removed from the store this coming Monday, May 30 at 4 am UTC.

All remaining Mons will be reserved to reward all of our dedicated community members who participate in the Legend presale. You will receive 1 Mon (ranging from Common to Legendary rarity) randomly distributed per Legend PFP you purchase.

You will still of course be able to buy these Mons from other players on Opensea and our upcoming low-fee Polygon Marketplace on the official Ethermon site.

New Mon card images are now visible for Ethermon’s Opensea Collection on Ethereum.

Opensea Collections

Up until now, our NFT collections of Ethereum and Polygon Mons, as well as Adventure sites and items, were posted in one singular Opensea Collection. We have now segmented these collections to make it easier for you to browse the secondary Ethermon Markets:

Note: During this segmentation, we have also updated the fee from 2.5 to 5% for the Polygon and Ethereum Mon collections, in line with the industry standard on Opensea. We will continue offering the low 3% total fee on our own Marketplace and have lowered the fee of the Legacy Adventure sites and items to 0%.

You will notice that we have also begun upgrading all Mon images, starting with the Ethereum collection. Each visual is unique with Mon-specific details integrated into the card displays. These changes are rolling out progressively across all Mons in the collection, requiring the metadata of each NFT to be refreshed. We are in the process of working with Opensea to force the metadata refresh of the entire collection. We are now moving onto updating the Polygon collection with the new Mon card visual upgrades.

Upcoming Changes to Battle Ladder 6

We are now making cyclical changes to Battle Ladder 6 — the Tribes Ladder. You will still have the same Tribe requirements for Tournament Week 21. Mons from the Mountain and Island Tribes are currently eligible to compete.

On June 1, this will change to the two Tribes that have not had a chance to compete yet in this ladder:

Tundra Tribe — ice, telepath, and neutral types

Volcano Tribe — fire, lightning, and combat types

As always, you can find up-to-date info about Ladder Rewards and Ladder Eligibility Requirements in the Ethermon Help Center.

Discord Server Changes

If you haven’t dropped in for a while, you’ll want to check out the massive changes we have been making to our Ethermon server. We have introduced some amazing community-developed games, a new streamlined onboarding process, and now a new system of roles and rewards.

New roles, ranks, and rewards

We are having more and more discussions about what an Ethermon DAO would look like and a key part of this transition is a cultural shift. For a DAO to be successful, community members must all become contributors. To empower this, we are updating our Moderator system to include a broader range of contributions. This will go into effect by Sunday, May 29 and is open to community discussion / feedback in the meantime.

In line with our upcoming Legend PFP release, this system recognizes all of the Legends in our community, with the contribution tiers: Legend in Training, Legend 1, Legend 2, and Legend 3 taking the place of our Mod roles. Check out the breakdown below for detailed information about the requirements to become a Legend yourself and achieve each progressive rank with its accompanying rewards.

Community-developed games

We now have 3 ongoing game channels and regular game nights (see “Events” on server). You can play #mon-trivia with community-made art prompts and Ethermon-specific questions. Or, try your luck at Mon #safari and see if you can catch ’em all — you can earn enough to buy the shards needed to catch Mons by simply chatting on the server.

Progress in both games is recorded in a distinct community leaderboard. Starting in June, we will be rewarding the top 5 winners across games with Mon NFT rewards.

New support ticket system

We are now transitioning to a Discord-first support system, where you can submit a support ticket or bug report right in #get-support for one of our support team members to answer. Over time, we will be adding specific non-English language support.

Legend PFP Collection

We have joined forces with Polygonal Mind, a creative development studio specializing in 3D metaverse content, to release a new collection of utility focused avatar NFTs called Legends.

Building on our established “play and earn” gameplay, the Legend PFP collection includes 5,555 NFTs with GameFi and DeFi utility, rendered and animated in 3D and 2D. The collection will launch in June 2022 at a mint price to be announced closer to the release date.
