Ethermon Community Round Up September 10, 2021
Howdy Ethermon Family! It’s time for another update to the community about what has been achieved and what is being planned to release next. On Wednesday we held our regular community discord call which had a HUGE showing of support from the community. Over 250 in attendance as Me (Iman), Ryan (RMAC#1), and Will (RoboWill) got together to discuss upcoming Ethermon updates and dive deep into community governance and DAO philosophies. It was an excellent conversation, one that I think will have major impact on the future direction of expanding the community involvement in Ethermon development. Since starting this series of regular community updates we’ve seen incredible growth in all fronts. One of our community reports during the IDO a few months back highlighted the breach of 50k Players in the Ethermon Universe. At the time 50k was a mind blowing number, and here we are today just a few months later celebrating 200K PLAYERS! Absolutely bonkers what is going on and the momentum growing for the Ethermon play-to-earn ecosystem. This past week alone more than $30k USD worth of EMON was distributed among 2D battle Trainers! We hope to see these growth trends continue as we expand the 3D ecosystem further in the coming weeks.
Changes to 3D Battle System
It has been confirmed that there will be changes to the design of the 3D battle mechanics that currently exist. The gameplay development will shift to a turn based approach giving the game a more strategic and less of a button smash experience to the player. We are in the process of testing with Mods in the community these new battling mechanics and will have more details to share soon. Silvet Ticket Wheel
Last week was our final Silver Ticket Reward Distribution Event. Tons of prizes were given out as expected, and as was discussed, marking the start to a transition phase for the grinding economy in Decentraland. This Saturday will be the last day to farm Tickets from slimes and after that there will be a reset. Soon after, a super mega awesome spinning wheel will be dropped allowing those who have been collecting the opportunity to spin and claim sick rewards.
After the ticket reset, so long as you hold at minimum 1 Ticket to your address, you will be eligible to spin the wheel 1 time! After that every 1000 tickets to your name equals an additional spin at the wheel. Congratulations to those who have been engaging with the 3D metaverse over the last few months, your efforts will be rewarded with these spins giving you access to new in-game materials and exclusive Mons! More details to come.
Biome Release
The first major Biome release is scheduled for the 20th of this month! Get hype! This release marks the beginnings to the full roll out of the metaverse game economy, closing the loop and giving Trainers the opportunity to grind, farm, and quest to acquire handsome rewards. This is an exciting time for all of us as we will finally introduce new in-game assets into the metaverse economy giving Trainers heavy reason to grind in-world to solidify their Mon training careers.
Farming will for sure be a priority activity when playing through the new district content. With this comes the roll out of the new inventory system and player skills! More details about these features will be announced the closer we get to release.
Addressing Multi-account Issues
During the call we posed the question to the community about whether or not the issue of multi-accounting needs to be addressed. The majority agreed measures to prevent this should be taken so we’ll be completely preventing multi accounting going forward and be doing a fair distribution of prizes for this past ladder — we’ll also be incentivizing players to keep mons on one account through energy bonuses.
