Now that the EMON token is announced and in the process of release, the time has come to unveil our content development plans moving forward. We’re so excited to share details with the community about what we’ve been working on for the past several months. Our goal will always be to deliver a fun and rewarding game experience for everyone in the Ethermon community.

We’ll be regularly updating the community on development progress for all upcoming content to be released. Below are the details of what has been achieved up to this point and what is still to come.

Biome Release Schedule

The above roadmap is broken down into quarterly segments with each containing the core content releases scheduled. Something not included in the breakdown is each biome to be released within the Ethermon District. We plan to drop an entire new environmental pack (Forest, Snow, Volcano, etc) every quarter, starting from Q2 launch and beyond.

Along with these Biome drops come:

  • new mons in eggs
  • new mons in shops
  • new items relevant to that biome
  • 1 limited edition catch that is extremely rare for that biome
  • biome relevant mon spawns for that phase (i.e. grass Mons in forest biome)

Roadmap Breakdown

In 2020 (GENE)

We set the foundations needed to bring Mons into Decentraland through the deployment of METAs like the Garden Bed, Egg Nest, and Wild Grass. These METAs serve to birth the mons entering into the metaverse population and to provide them the necessary experience to thrive.

All METAs are available for purchase on MetaZone for DCL land owners to host and claim share in the revenue generated from the in-app purchases. Huge thanks to every META Host helping support the game ecosystem, without your contribution this new game model could not exist.

During the later part of the year, more than 600 Wild Grass METAs were airdropped and distributed to land owners throughout DCL. This was to provide plenty of hosted spawning grounds for wild mons to be located which will result in us being able to deliver a truly unique mmo-rpg experience conducive to exploration and world wide adventure.

On top of this our first wearables were created. We plan on incorporating more passive benefits to the trainers equipping this gear. We also plan to release more cosmetics and wearables in the future not just for player avatars but for the mons themself.

Q1 2021 (EVO)

The focus was to prioritize district content development in anticipation of a mid year release. We wanted to be sure with the upcoming EMON token generation, the release of engaging gameplay content would be achievable shortly after as opposed to outlining an obscure vision for a game without any proof it can be achieved.

This time investment paid massive dividends as we are now in a position to launch many exciting gameplay features within the year. We’re in the process of expanding our developer team to accelerate this momentum even further.

Q2 2021 (CATA)

Many exciting developments are to come during this epoch as we’re kickstarting the token economics within the Ethermon ecosystem with the launch of EMON. Also the initiation of a comprehensive release of gameplay content is to be expected with District launch and deployment of core Player vs Environment (PvE) features. At this point every mon in Decentraland will have capabilities to battle, level up, and produce valuable yield for their owners as they claim rewards from every victory in combat.

Q3 2021 (KAZM)

We have plans to release a ton of content during this period. This will be essential to give Ethermon trainers access to critical tools to improve their efficiencies while in the wild.

Necessities Shop — In-world storefront to provide trainer tools and equipments needed to catch mons in the wild.

Kitchen — A hub for storage of food and to be able to cook special recipes transforming food items giving them magical properties to enhance mon attributes.

Training Ground — Teach your mons battle moves to enhance their combat abilities.

During this period will also come core gameplay features in the form of introducing boss fight and raiding mechanics allowing groups of trainers to partner up and accept higher difficulty tasks with the potential for massive rewards! On top of this, a new Guild formation system will be deployed allowing community members to self organize. Many benefits will come from joining a guild, but most importantly $EMON and MARKS yield optimization will be the main one.

Q4 2021 (IZI)

Introducing more Player vs Player (PvP) battle mechanics will be the main focus during this time era. To deliver on a robust game economy, competition among fellow trainers will assure mons are receiving the proper training and care to keep up. Major EMON rewards will be allocated from the gameplay reward pool to those most capable of winning these battles as we roll out new and exciting tournament style arenas for trainers to heads up PvP within.

In-world trading is huge for supporting a player driven economy. We’ll be introducing many exciting features around this time to allow for fast and efficient NFT trading among the community without having to leave the metaverse they love.

2022

By the end of 2021 we’ll be updating the community with a new roadmap to prepare everyone for whats to come the following year. Some of the important dev items in consideration for 2022 are below:

  • Complete Release of Every Biome Ecosystem
  • Mobile Synchronization to Connect Metaverse Experiences to Phone Devices
  • Potential Expansion (Method TBD)

At this point Trainers will have all the tools necessary to efficiently earn and participate in the robust game economy within the ecosystem. Play-to-earn will never be looked at in the same scope we’re currently used to once we execute and delivery is in full effect!

Closing Thoughts

Decentraland is largely the focus of development resources in the next 9 month time frame, with the goal to complete phase 2 of a 3 phase process making Ethermon a multi-platform game title with NFT interopability throughout. Fortunately we’ve front run the development necessary to achieve this so the vision should be brought to reality very soon with the initiation of District and additional content releases.

Overall we’re focused on delivering on every point to this roadmap schedule and always leave open the potential to add in more if needed. We strive to deliver our vision of a play-to-earn multiverse game for every Ethermon player to be passionate about.
