Ethermon Introduces $EMON Token to Expand Play to Earn Opportunities

We recognize our job is not just to deliver fun and exciting gameplay experiences, we’re also responsible for laying the foundations needed for our players to accrue true value from the ecosystems they spend their time in.
EMON Details
Total Token Supply: 400 Million $EMON
Ethermon has an existing token — EMONT — that was created before the project underwent a team reformation and rebrand (Etheremon -> Ethermon). In anticipation of the project’s expansion, the difficulty to obtain EMONT was increased. The only way to obtain EMONT was by grinding the game modes on the 2D platform. At time of writing, the circulating supply is approximately 2% (Total Supply = 20,000,000 EMONT).
The EMONT token was first introduced in 2017 using early days ERC20 standards, although secure it creates challenges to be compatible with new multi-chain requirements.
With the need to upgrade and our game expanding into 3D, a new token has been carefully crafted with play-to-earn mechanics and improved economics at its core. The new EMON token smart contract adheres to the latest standards with improved token compatibility.
The new token will also be multichain compatible across all Ethermon game platforms. EMON will launch on both Matic (Polygon) and Ethereum mainnet with a bridge ready on Day 1 launch. The same exact same Token Contract Address will be used on both networks!
EMON Token Uses
So how will the new token bring additional utility?
Two Game Currencies will be added into the Ethermon Ecosystem:
- MARKS, which is an off-chain/in-game only currency, will allow players to purchase & upgrade the common items & utilities needed for everyday gameplay.
- EMON on the other hand will allow players to access premium content that is rare, limited & unique, and provide benefits to the holder.
Some example use cases are as follows:
- Purchase Mons, Asset “Packs”, Meta Franchises and Cosmetics
- Purchase and Upgrade Battle Moves / Equipment / Rare Items
- Upgrade Metas and Enhance Gameplay Utilities
- Purchase and Upgrade Virtual Space
- Unlock Special Areas with Exclusive Content and Game Modes
- Entry for Gym Battles and PVP Tournament Entry
This list will continue to grow. Our main goal is to give EMON & Ethermon NFTs as much functionality as we possibly can.
Ways to Earn EMON
Our largest allocation basket of the total token supply is the gameplay pool (play-to-earn).
Below is a quick breakdown of the various methods to earn EMON tokens from the Ethermon Ecosystem.
- Convert In-Game loot/MARKS → Crafted NFTs (Burn for EMON)
- Convert In-Game loot/MARKS → Crafted NFTs (Secondary Marketplace / Contract Burn)
- In-Game loot sold via Player owned Franchise/Stores
- In-Game Rewards — Questing / Adventures / Completing Gym battles
- In-Game Tournament Prizes
What Happens Now?
EMONT to EMON Upgrade
To proceed into the future with EMON as the backbone utility token it will require a conversion process for all those holding EMONT (both On & Off-chain). This process will begin after the token generation event (TGE) allowing legacy holders to convert their EMONT into EMON.
Snapshot for determining the off-chain legacy holdings has been taken on April 19th 2021 and will be used to assign the claiming amounts to those who qualify. To facilitate a transition, the current questing system (main method for farming EMONT in the past) will be temporarily closed. Any farmed EMONT post snapshot will not be accounted for in the EMON conversion process.

Airdrop to Our Beloved Community
The Ethermon Universe has been around since 2017, making it one of the longest standing NFT projects in the space. Without the support from our loyal community, we would not be where we are today. Because of this, allocation has been assigned for those individuals who supported the growth of the ecosystem. We’re happy to share with the community that we will be allocating a portion of our new token supply to the following:
Total Community Token Allocation up to 1.5% of Total Supply
- All Mon Holders (excluding form-1 free starter) (Snapshot will be taken)
- META Owners with a Bonus allocation to deployed on land (Snapshot taken: April 19)
- Off-chain EMONT Holders: There will be an Automatic Upgrade to on-chain EMON (Snapshot taken: April 19)
- On-chain conversion for on-chain EMONT Holders (1:4 Ratio)
Polygon Token Contract Explained
The EMON Token will be available on Ethereum mainnet and Matic (Polygon) mainnet under the identical contract address. Traditionally, contracts across chains are deployed under different addresses. The Ethermon team have worked closely with Matic (Polygon) to carefully craft the deployment so that both networks deploy the same exact token contract address. This is a very important milestone as this also keeps our users safe from any malicious attempts with fake token contracts. EMON will be bridged between the networking using http://wallet.matic.network/ under the EthermonToken (EMON).
