Ethermon Proudly Introduces New Set of “Genesis Reborn” Mons available on Matic (Polygon)
The new Ethermon Era begins tomorrow Trainers! We’re thrilled to announce the beginnings of Genesis Reborn with the initial release of these Mons in the ethermon.io “Starter Store” starting Thursday July 29th 3pm UTC
In the recent past we have announced this brand new set release featuring revised versions of the original Genesis Mons, you can read on the details here. Trainers will now have the opportunity to catch one of the very first 4 Gen0 Mons released from this new set. All new Mons will be immediately usable in 2D and in the Decentralands 3D metaverse.
Introducing Genesis Reborn
We’ve recently made changes to the rarity implementations to the Mons. The new rarity level also ties a fixed scarcity of supply for each Ethermon class within a set. These first 4 Genesis Reborn Ethermon (class 1002, 1003, 1007, 1010 ) Dynamouse, Nageel, Berrball, and Chulember) ****will each have a max supply cap of 500. Mons from the Starter Store (available in WETH over Polygon network for purchase) will not typically exceed an Uncommon Rarity, while higher rarity can only be found or acquired via EMON tokens.
The price to catch for each of the new 4 Mons will start at .015 WETH and slightly increase incrementally after each purchase. Once all 500 have been caught they can only be purchased from the secondary marketplace. Keep in mind, the badge 1–3 Mons will be claimed by the earliest participants in this upcoming Reborn sale as they are distributed on a first come first mint basis.
How to Catch Your Mon (on Polygon)
NOTE: To catch Mons you will need Wrapped ETH in your balance on Polygon. Steps 1–6 explain how to migrate your Ethereum from ETH Mainnet to Matic Layer two which will automatically convert to Wrapped Ethereum(WETH). These steps may appear difficult at first, but as soon as you go through the motions of this guide, bridging assets between chains will feel like a walk in the park. Once you have your WETH you’ll have everything you need to catch new Mons!
Step 1 Set up your Matic RPC by following this [guide to configure](https://docs.matic.network/docs/develop/metamask/config-matic/#:~:text=To add Matic’s Mainnet%2C click,Network field%2C click on Save.), this will allow you to switch between Ethereum Mainnet layer 1 and Matic Mainnet layer 2 networks when needed
Step 2 Go to the official Matic bridge and connect your wallet (stay on Ethereum Mainnet) to transfer assets from L1 to L2. Be sure you have ETH in your wallet
Step 3 Click “Move funds to Matic Button”
Step 4 Input desired amount of ETH into swapping tool and hit “Transfer” button. Hit continue on every prompt until wallet asks for signature to initiate transfer
Step 5 Pay your gas fee and wait for transfer to clear (usually takes 6 to 9 minutes)
Step 6 When transfer is complete (you can check etherscan to verify “success”). You can also switch your wallet from Ethereum Mainnet to Matic Mainnet to verify that your ETH was deposited and your new WETH balance reflects the amount of ETH you transferred over
SUCCESS! Congratulations Trainer, you’re now ready to go to our main site and begin the catching process
Step 7 Visit ethermon.io and click “Login” to connect wallet
Step 8 Click “Complete your profile” and create your account by adding email and user id
Once account is made, follow below steps
Step 9 Locate “Official Store” text on left side of screen or click on the “Starter Store” building on the website UI.
Step 10 Select the Mon you desire to catch, it will bring up Mon details page when you do so
Step 11 Click “Approve WETH” and complete signature request, wait until button is removed and only “catch on matic” button remains
Step 12 Click “Catch on Matic” and give your Mon a name, then complete signature request
Congratulations! After about a 1 to 2 minutes, you should be able to see your new Mon in your inventory by clicking the “My Collections” tab on the home page. You now have a new companion to train, battle, and earn with when on your Ethermon adventure!
