At Ethex.market, we are interested in the exchange landscape and wanted to do some research and share it with you. Here is a list of some of the more active DEX’s (Decentralized Exchanges) and CEX’s (Centralized Exchanges) and what fees/costs a trader might incur while using the exchange. Fees for most DEXs are slightly less than CEXs, but this can vary from exchange to exchange. These metrics do not account for any incentive/discount for holding a certain token, staking a token, VIP tiers or trading a certain volume amount. These fees account for a trader that is not taking part in any incentives or discounts and is only trading the first tier of volume. This article only covers exchanges and does not look at projects that are relays or swaps. In this article, we look at platforms that operate similarly to traditional exchanges utilizing order books.

Terminology:
Maker is someone that puts up an order on the exchange. Taker is someone that takes that order to initiate the trade.

-Transferring a token to a different wallet (or withdrawing tokens)
