While the Indian Supreme Court hears arguments regarding a ban on banking services for crypto business, the prime minister awarded a crypto app developer.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented the annual national Bal Shakti Puraskar award to 18-year-old Harsita Arora, who has developed an application to track prices for cryptocurrencies. The Government was previously advised to completely ban digital assets in the country.

The award recognizes children between the ages of 5 and 18 for outstanding achievements in social services, innovation, sports, art, culture and science, as well as for displaying personal courage.

Harshita Arora has developed the Crypto Price Tracker application to protect investors from fraud, allowing them to manage their portfolios and track prices.

“My app received a lot of positive feedback from the crypto community and got thousands of paid downloads in the first 24 hours of launch which led it to becoming the #2 app in the financial category of the App Store.”

The young programmer also created Food AI applications for product identification by image and CellCount, which help biologists count cells in photos from a microscope.
