Tokenized assets on Ethereum have proven themselves to represent one of the most exciting innovations of the decade, displacing traditional business models, financial infrastructures and governance networks. The fundamental value of tokenized assets has quickly proven to be the communities surrounding them; however, in an industry with scattered (and biased) information sources and knowledge sharing, thorough analysis becomes complex and information becomes difficult to locate, analyse and manage.

We’ve designed Ethfinex to combat this. Ethfinex is designed as a community & information hub for developers, traders, and Ethereum enthusiasts. Our goal is to facilitate discussion, analysis and informed trading throughout the Ethereum ecosystem, providing a platform of development and support for Ethereum projects and the communities around them.

Our vision is a decentralised, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing platform combining user ratings, news & expert opinions to help filter out quality projects and keep you up to date. This will culminate in a platform managed, organised and scrutinised by the Ethfinex community.

Getting Started

To get started, log into Ethfinex and find Discussions.

When you visit ethfinex.com/discussions you will be presented with an overview of currently trending discussion topics from the numerous projects across the platform. You can reply to Trending Discussion posts by choosing a topic and replying to comments of your choice.

Alternatively, you can visit the Potential Token Listings section to research a specific project, or post a new topic by visiting a specific projects home page, picking an area of discussion (e.g. Whitepaper, Development, Token Structure) and choosing New Topic.

Adding new topics or replying to previous posts allows you, and others, to put together a crowdsourced token analysis through scrutinising the merits of particular aspects of project. When you submit a review, you will be presented with the opportunity to rate said project, simultaneously providing an investment recommendation (buy/hold/sell) and a general rating, which will be used to alter the “score” of a project. The general impact of a review is weighted based on a number of factors and can differ between users — users with a lot of platform activity, high trading volume and generally positive feedback will be able to leave reviews with a higher impact than others.

When you first visit Ethfinex you will find available for analysis both tradable and non-tradable projects. The reasoning behind this is for Ethfinex to grow into a truly community driven platform, where listing decisions are dictated by community consensus to determine a projects relative level of “attractiveness”. Projects with thriving communities and insightful analysis will be made available for trading (pending collaboration and confirmation from the founding team).

The Road Ahead

All posts, reviews and ratings go towards developing a “community consensus” for each project — a rating system through which new investors and experienced traders alike can get the information and feedback required for optimised trading. Team applying for listing on Ethfinex will have their projects listed on the Ethfinex discussion forum

We are proceeding with the goal of consolidating Ethereum-centric information whilst integrating the diverse communities around the teams advancing this space.

Our aim is that, as Ethfinex matures, the platform will be able to act as a one-stop shop for traders, enthusiasts, project teams and developers to crowdsource the information required for effective analysis.

For decentralisation to succeed, the tasks of an exchange must be redistributed to its users. With the launch of the Nectar token, coupled with the integration of the decentralised Ethfinex portal, we feel we are on the right path to facilitate this.
