The Ethfinex Team
Last week we announced our vision for Ethfinex — a community & information platform to facilitate research, discussion and trading of Ethereum-based projects. It has been a fantastic first week, and the positive response has made us all the more motivated to continue on this journey.
We’d love to take the opportunity to introduce ourselves and allow you to get to know a few of the people contributing to our vision.
Paolo Ardoino / Chief Technology Officer
Paolo began developing financial applications in 2010 and founded a fintech startup as CTO in late 2013.
Paolo joined Bitfinex in 2015 and started serving as Chief Technology Officer in August 2016, developing and managing the core parts of Bitfinex’s backend with a focus on security, long-term scalability, trading engine and APIs.
Will Harborne / Ethfinex Project Lead
Will has a background in operations and technology consultancy at a range of start-ups and large engineering companies. Before joining Bitfinex to contribute to building a new financial ecosystem, Will worked at IBM where he explored enterprise use cases for blockchain.
With a degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, he excels at understanding technical and business systems to make ideas into reality.
Enrico Rubboli / Back-end & Ethereum Developer
Enrico has 16 years of experience in Software Development, and joined Bitfinex in early 2016 as a Senior Software Engineer.
He studied telecommunications in Italy and worked in various teams like Macmillan Science & Education in London, TUI Group in Italy and ELC Technology in the States. Enrico is an agile mentor, and loves designing things and architectures.
He’s passionate about free software, new technologies and Bitcoin.
Ahmed Ali / Smart Contract Developer
Ali joined Bitfinex in 2017 as a Smart Contract Developer to contribute to Ethereum-based projects.
After graduating as a doctor, Ali shifted paths and added to his portfolio through fiscal software and cryptography development.
Due to a fascination with its capabilities & potential, he turned his attention towards blockchain technologies and hasn’t looked back since.
Claudia Lagorio / UX & UI Project Developer
Claudia’s portfolio consists of 8+ years experience in UX/UI design and digital marketing consultation.
She joined Bitfinex in 2016 after gaining international experience as a developer and marketing director.
She now serves as the Lead Mobile & Front-end Developer for Bitfinex, focusing on the development of innovative trading technologies and user experiences.
Rama McIntosh / Senior Full-Stack Developer
Rama is a Computer Scientist with 25+ years dedicated to software engineering, architecture & database-backed web applications.
He has experience as chief designer & architect of computer systems, managing a diversity of functions ranging from development to project management.
Rama joined as Senior Full-Stack Developer in 2017.
Kasper Rasmussen / Marketing Manager
Kasper joined Ethfinex in the summer of 2017 as Marketing Manager, with 4 years of experience around global marketing management & consulting for organisations and start-ups across a variety of industries.
His focus is on the development of marketing solutions and communications strategies to challenge conventions and leverage long-term growth, ambition and value.
Ethfinex is the home of digital tokens trading, investments and discussion; built for the Ethereum community, using Ethereum. Our vision is to facilitate discussion & analysis of Ethereum-based projects, to the benefit of the ecosystem as a whole, providing excellent projects with the community hub, foundation & tools to succeed. Beyond this we will be working to decentralise our trading platform, making use of blockchain technologies wherever possible.
We’re currently looking for a Senior Back-end Developer and a Decentralised Systems Developer to join our team. The positions are remote and available to anyone self-driven, and with the experience, motivation and capacity to contribute to our vision. For all our team members self-motivation is essential. No one on the team will micro-manage you. We are looking for team members who are comfortable using their initiative and seeing it through to completion. You will be part of a dynamic, fast paced team, and have the chance to shape the direction of Ethfinex as we grow.
Senior Back-end Developer
- Knowledge and experience in micro-services architecture
- Comfortable with high-availability concepts
- Have actively participated in the development of a sophisticated platform as one of the leading developers
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies
- Preferred technologies: Ruby, Node.js, MySQL, Redis, Websockets
- Other technologies of interest: Message queues (ZeroMQ, RabbitMQ), Job Queues
Decentralised Systems Developer
- Experience designing and building scalable distributed systems
- Have built and be able to demonstrate at least personal hobby projects using Solidity and web3, and have a good understanding of the Ethereum Virtual Machine
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies
- Preferred technologies: Node.js, React, Geth, Web3, Solidity, IPFS
