The AI landscape is shifting under foot, hour by hour

Dall-E AI representation of Van Gogh’s Starry Night. Author assumes responsibility.

AI research and development is moving fast — almost as rapidly as the rush to market for OpenAI’s products since bursting onto the scene in late November 2022.

While technological advances are exciting, this publication is dedicated to meeting each new product with a few ethical questions:

  • How will it impact student learning and development?
  • What impact will it have on the workplace?
  • Will the benefits outweigh the risks?
  • How might it be exploited to the detriment of safety and privacy?
  • What other risks exist from a cybercrime viewpoint?
  • Is the company releasing this great tool equipped to succeed?

Please consider these questions before submitting to this publication. We are tech nerds who still get excited over every shiny new gadget, but we’re also humans who care about our kids and society.
