About IPFS and Filecoin
IPFS is a peer-to-peer network and protocol designed to make the web faster, safer, and more open. IPFS upgrades the web to work peer to peer, addressing data by what it is instead of where it’s located on the network, or who is hosting it.
Filecoin, one the world’s largest decentralised network offering more than 16+ Exbibytes of storage. It allows users to store, request, and transfer data via a verifiable marketplace. Filecoin is completely open-source, enabling people from all over the world to participate.
Bounties submitted for the Hackathon
IPFS and Filecoin have submitted bounties, to be claimed during the hackathon, in the amount of $20.000 dollar.
The amount submitted will be split in two bounty categories:
Storage
- The best use of Filecoin for persistent, decentralised storage and/or IPFS for content addressing directly or via tools* such as NFT.storage, Web3.storage etc.
- AND/OR any implementation of p2p infrastructure with Libp2p libraries.
Data
Best use of project Bacalhau to process data on IPFS. Please see bacalhau.org/casestudies for inspiration. Bonus points for processing larger datasets. Preferred topics, but not limited to:
- decentralised science (DeSci) research
- oracle integration (e.g. Chainlink, API3)
- blockchain data indexing or processing
Within these two categories the prize money will be allocated amongst the top projects.
