“For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.” ~Psalms‬ ‭62:1–2‬

Quick gut check

What are you trusting in today? Your own skills, the amount of money in your retirement account? Your great healthcare plan?

David was labeled in the Bible. He was a man after God’s own heart. He had troubles, he fell into major sin, and ultimately he failed at his “job.” But he sought after God.

This is what God wants from us!

Wait on Him. Hang your highest hopes on Him. Throw your deepest, most painful failures on the cross. He is our salvation (see post on the bigger meaning of salvation). He is our rock.

It’s the only way to truly experience all that God wants for us.
