🔱🔱 Gentle Boldness— 1 Peter 3:15,17
“…but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.” ~1 Peter 3:15,17
As Christians, when it comes to talking about our faith in the public sphere or even with another person we know, we often fall in one of two camps.
- Many people just shy away from talk about it. It’s uncomfortable. It may sever or damage your relationship with others. It’s hard.
- We can become defensive where by the time we’re done talking, even if we’re right, no one would want to listen to us anyways.
A better way
Like so many other things, the Bible calls us to a different path — bold gentleness. Don’t be afraid….but do speak with gentleness and respect. That’s really hard!
Pray that God would give you a loving and courageous heart. Don’t be afraid to share about how God is real in your life!
