🌱How to Bear Real Fruit in Your Life🌱 — Ps. 52:8–9

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever. I will thank you forever, because you have done it. I will wait for your name, for it is good, in the presence of the godly. ~Ps. 52:8–9

These verses draw up an image that the psalms and the prophets often use to describe how God relates to His people.

We as believers are not a set of statistics or simply a divine program to implement — we are organic, living.

God cares for us much the same way that a careful gardner cares for a new olive tree. He protects it, sets it in the right location to receive sunlight, waters it, works the soil — it’s a lot of work!

To Bear Fruit

Of course this care has a purpose. God wants to preserve us and bless us so that we grow and can bear fruit. It’s the only natural response to His care.

Ask God to show you how He is caring for you now. What ways is He cultivating the soil in your life to help you bear more fruit for the Kingdom?
