“On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord, and all your saints shall bless you!” ~Psalms‬ ‭145:5, 10

Our focus in prayer

When it comes to prayer…we most often think about what’s in it for us. How can we get God to do something for us.

The great thing is, that’s ok for some of the time. God is our loving Father who calls us to come to Him with what we need. What a gift!

Try changing your focus

If we’re paying attention, though, one element we see in most of the Psalms, even the ones that are the “complaining” Psalms, is an over-riding attitude of thankfulness.

In these verses, we see someone working hard to remember all that God has done.

Focusing on what God has already done for us can have a powerful effect on our souls. Give it a shot!

Besides just our circumstances…look at all God’s promsies for us. Look at our relationship with Him. Look at what he wants to do in and through us. Give it a shot!
