“His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of a man, but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.” ~‭Psalms‬ ‭147:10–11‬

I feel like I’ve heard this verse and others like it a thousand times. Man looks on the outside, but God looks on the inside.

Ultimately God’s desire is for us to walk with Him and to know Him.

So why do we always fall away from that?

You could replace the words “strength of a horse” or “legs of a man” for bank account size, or followers on twitter, or anything. Why are we always striving for something else?

If you are quiet with God, you will hear Him calling you to find your full contentment in Him.

the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him….
