Join Us for EU at School

In the US it feels like as soon the Fourth-of-July festivities are behind us, “Back to School” season is upon us. Supermarkets, clothing shops, stationery and “buy everything here” retailers — everyone gets in on the act. And this year, so are we at EUintheUS.
Because what better time of year to showcase all the areas where the EU and the US work together in the field of education? So we’re kicking off a series of stories here on Medium, and perhaps one or two additions to our new podcast series, to showcase the huge array of educational programmes, grants, competitions that we’re really quite proud of.
Working in and around education is hugely important to us. One of the main reasons we have a Delegation in Washington DC at all is to lead and coordinate our efforts to help the US and the EU get to know and understand each other a little better.

Our educational engagement — connecting with educators, policymakers and the next generation of leaders — is a huge part of that. Having been fortunate enough to travel extensively in both the EU and US during my high school and college years, I know first-hand just how formative these sorts of experiences can be. And, more recently, I have been genuinely inspired by the enthusiasm of the people I’ve met while serving as a judge for our Schuman Challenge and Euro Challenge competitions.
So stick with us for this upcoming “EU at School” series. You’ll learn about everything from how to access funding to learn and research to how to take part in discussion competitions, Model EU simulations and themed seminars, or where to find the best events in our upcoming Kids Euro Festival. And all of this is open to everyone, so you’ve no excuse not to get involved!
