On Tuesday, January 23, 2018, the European Data Journalism Network was presented to the European Parliament. A multilingual and collaborative platform established by 16 European partners, EdjNet is funded by an EU Commission’s grant, as part of its efforts at promoting independent news production around EU affairs.

Chiara Sighele (Osservatorio Balcani e Caucaso Transeuropa, Italy) and Gian Paolo Accardo (VoxEurop, France) presented the goals and the preliminary results of EDJNet to the members of the Committee for Culture and Education of the Parliament. “Our fundamental goal is to provide information enabling evidence-based debate on European issues,” Sighele said. “To do so, we’re empowering newsrooms across Europe.”
