This publication is going to cover all the things related to managing personal finances, improving budgeting skills, creating strategies for saving for a rainy day, and making your excess savings work hard for you.

It’s for people whose goal isn’t to earn as much money as they can but to earn money that will buy their time. Time is the most precious currency, it’s invaluable. The interest from wise investments is time which you can spend on what really matters for you — be it your family, travelling, singing, surfing, or knitting scarfs.
As the publication name suggests, there will be a special focus on investments made by folks living in Europe.

I live in Europe. I decided to start this publication after a long search for a good source of knowledge about the investing possibilities as a citizen of the EU. There’s an enormous amount of websites, blogs and articles written by financial hobbyists and professionals, but most of them are the residents of the USA. In finance it’s quite important from which part of the globe you are.

Can I use any of the popular fin-tech services like Betterment, Mint or Robinhood? Sure I can, but only if I’m a resident of the USA. There’s a lot of regulations making it difficult for fin-tech companies to go global from day one.

I’m not saying that it’s impossible to find a good fin-tech companies for Europeans, but it always requires additional time spent on research and making sure you are allowed to get into it living in the EU.

I was always interested in finances, self-development and programming. I’m a full-stack developer professionally, but I’m equally interested in personal finances and making wise financial decisions. The goal is to enjoy my life without worrying that the older I get, the more I will need to work to keep my current lifestyle.

Few months ago I started working on an open source application — NetValue — that helps tracking your net worth. I’m sure that, once the app is finished, it will be the useful addition to the information you’ll find here.

You can find me on Twitter, where I occasionally tweet about finances. There’s also a newly created Google+ Community where I would like to create a place to exchange ideas, share knowledge and get to know each other. See you there!

Enjoy your life and have a net positive week!
