C4WS Homeless Project is a Euston-based charity working to support those who are homeless with securing accommodation and beginning the process of rebuilding their lives.

Started in 2005 by concerned local residents wanting to help those people sleeping rough in Camden, this is a charity born out of the commitment of the local community to support the most vulnerable living and sleeping on our doorsteps.

Today, they run a winter night shelter each year for five months which provides emergency accommodation for up to 100 people with nowhere else to go. Each guest (the term we use to describe people staying in our shelter) is then assigned a Case Worker from the Welfare Team who works one-on-one with them to help them obtain move-on housing. Last year, 92% of those engaged with the Welfare Team successfully secured a new home.

There is also a weekly Jobs Club where volunteer mentors help support people with learning job-ready skills and accessing appropriate training and employment. Last year, 71% of those eligible and looking for work found paid employment through the Jobs Club.

Each guest who secures housing and/or employment is then offered a place on the Mentoring and Befriending Scheme. They are allocated a trained volunteer mentor who will meet with them weekly to help them with the transition to independent living and/or work, and provide a valuable point of continuity in their lives through this period of change.

As part of our outreach work we run a weekly drop-in service called the Friday Club providing refreshments, lunch, clothing, showers, hairdressing and library services for up to 50 people in need each week.

C4WS also offer a range of other services available to guests of our projects including English Classes, yoga and physiotherapy.

They are always keen to involve the local business community and if your company would like to get in touch to explore ideas of how to support the work of C4WS please contact Sam, the Welfare Coordinator, on 07858 810 698 or sam@c4wshomelessproject.org
