Why We Wrote This Blog Post
Event Temple is a software company for venues and hotels. We don’t send unsolicited spam emails. Dylan Basile used to work with us here at Event Temple and is a long time friend of ours. But somehow, a small snippet of text from one of Event Temple’s emails was copied by a spammer who has sent out unsolicited emails to people in a spam attack. Now, Dylan and Event Temple are receiving emails that they are being spammed, apparently by us.
We are not spamming you and we want it to stop just as badly as you do.
We Did Not Spam You And Neither Did Dylan Basile
We wrote this post because Dylan has gotten messages and so has our company. We are not behind the spam and aren’t sending it. In this article, I wanted to outline what is going on, how it is affecting us just as much as you and how to make it stop. I also hope it can help you in preventing spam in your own company/life as well. It isn’t something we would wish on anyone.
The Spam Message
The type of spam message I am talking about is below. Notice how they only copied the first few lines of our response to a request for a demo with our company. This was an email that Event Temple sent out with Dylan’s name. But now, these spammers have posted his name and our company name in amongst a bunch of jibberish and have sent it out.

Joining me for a quick demo will be the fastest and most efficient way for you to see what the software is capable of. How To Help Us Make It Stop
Spam sucks. We hate it and you hate it. It’s annoying and these emails are especially aggravating because they are aggressive and jiberish and some people get them multiple times.
STOP THE SPAMMERS — REPORT THE SPAM TO AWS:
You’ll need to send AWS the following information:
- The domain sending the spam
- The IP sending the spam
- Html headers of the spam
- Html content of the spam.

Let’s End The Spam
I know how frustrating it can be to get unsolicited emails that don’t make any sense from people you don’t know. It’s happened to me too. This particular spam attack happened out of the blue to our company and we can’t help but say that it feels like an attack. It’s very odd and there seems to be no reason behind it. We have contacted the police as well as google and the hosts where the websites the spam messages are linked to. We will continue to take every effort to prevent it and stop Event Temple and Dylan Basile’s names from being used falsely by spammers.
