We have been thinking about how we can track and get a better understanding of all the touch points of Events Registration, RSVPs, seamlessly connect to an existing CRM so that we can measure ROI and help sales folks make better decisions.

We’ve been working on a deeper integration our platform with Salesforce. I am happy to announce that we have added a fairly deep integration with Salesforce that allows seamless integration enabling the smooth exchange of a more complete profile of your leads, prospects and customers.

Using Campaign, Leads, Contacts & Opportunities

Campaigns :

Campaigns are a great tool to track individual events in Salesforce. They are designed to organize and analyze efforts involved with a certain marketing program. Campaigns help you to calculate the ROI of your marketing efforts by allowing you to track the cost, pipeline, and closed deals associated with it. The flexibility of campaigns allows them to be used for all marketing programs while helping you determine the performance of your events.

How to use Campaign for Event tracking:

It is easy to track Events ROI with the Campaign feature in Salesforce. Once you connect your event to a specific campaign — all the registrations connected to that event will sync to this campaign.

Leads ,Contacts, Opportunities

Leads & Contacts in Salesforce allows you to maintain clean data quality and organization in your Salesforce database.

The use of leads is a great way to manage new registrations that come into your database. Once these have been qualified as valuable leads they can be immediately converted into the corresponding accounts and contacts or opportunities.

How to use Leads and Contacts during Registration

Eventgrid allows you to have two specific workflows. You can view registration data as:

  1. Lead Objects or
  2. Contacts (That also updates campaigns & Opportunities)

Simple Flow

For example : You have simple events and all you want is to have all the registrants entered as Leads, you can configure Eventgrid to do just that.

Full Flow

Full Flow allows you to tie in Contacts, Campaign and Opportunities. When someone registers for an Event, the following events occur:

  1. Registrant is added or updated to the Contacts Object
  2. Registrant information is added to the Campaign
  3. Opportunity is created with Closed Won status and the amount that was charged as registration fees
  4. When Attendees “Check in” at the event this information is also pushed to to Salesforce
  5. If you are using Campaigns on Eventgrid, you can also import everyone on your Salesforce Campaign Members and send them email invites etc.
