You are organizing a conference with speakers and sessions. A big part of the challenge is setting up registration online. Many popular Event Management systems provide easy ways to setup ticket sale or handle registration. On the other hand, schedule, sessions and speakers usually require the use of yet another system. Having attendees use one system to register and another to select sessions and read about the schedule makes the whole process overly complicated, especially if you want the available sessions to be ticket type specific or charge for tickets and sessions at the same time.

Eventgrid provides a simple way to combine registration and Schedule. Here is how you can setup an event with Sessions and Speakers in about 20 mins.

You can now build a dynamic, multi-track, multi-session agenda with your online event registration process. Our tool gives you the option to let attendees sign up for different “tracks” or sessions. The registrants can even pick and choose from different sessions to make their own track throughout the course of the overall event.

How to setup an event with breakout sessions or workshops :

  1. Select Registrations Event Type. There are several event types available. The one we need is “Registrations” event type.

2. Enter the event information and venue details. The event can be publicly available or privately accessible via a unique URL (if you select it as a private event).

3. Create the Registration Type. Here you can specify the number of available registrations and price. You can also elect to charge Credit Card and Eventgrid fees to the attendees. There are also advanced options including Wait List available for each Registration Type.

4. Here is the list of 3 registration types that I created for this event.

5. Next let’s add some speakers who will be presenting their stuff. You can upload a speaker photo and bio.

6. After adding speakers, we get to the Schedule screen. Here you can add schedule items and sessions. Each schedule item/time slot can have one or multiple sessions. You have granular control over each session where you can specify location, track, price, available quantity and many other options.

7. Last but not least is Website Design. Use the Eventgrid CMS editor to fully customize your Event website. You can pick from 10 pre-built templates or start with blank site. Using drag and drop, you can add Text, Images, Tickets List, Speakers and many other elements to your website. You can also split your content into many pages.

And that’s pretty much it. Check out the final result here.

In about 20 minutes you have fully functional event registration, with agenda, custom website (including custom domain), and multiple pricing options.
