The first Smart Sustainable City Hackathon based on the Federal project for Digitalization of urban environment “Smart City” will take place in Moscow

From 31st May to 2nd June industry experts, business leaders, investors, developers and authorities will come together for a 48-hours hackathon, supported by Russian Federation Ministry of Construction. The goal of the event is to create unique solutions on the basis of AI, IoT and distributed ledger technology to implement the governmental project for Digitalization of urban environment “Smart City”.

Evercity presents Smart Sustainable City hackathon — the first blockchain, AI and IoT hackathon for smart sustainable cities in Russia, aimed at solving challenges of smart sustainable cities.

Smart Sustainable City hackathon will take place from 31st May to 2nd June in “GrowUp” coworking in Moscow, bringing together over 200 developers, engineers, ecologists, entrepreneurs, designers and specialists in smart sustainable cities with different expertise and skills.

Designed to become an impulse towards digital transformation, the hackathon is aimed at finding innovative sustainable business solutions for smart cities, based on active implementation of blockchain, IoT and AI technologies. Developers will be working on solutions in several themed tracks, including smart housing and communal services, smart energy, smart public transport, smart urban governance, smart security.

Presentation for partners

The hackathon will take place in three stages in order to ensure maximal awareness of participants and highest quality of developed solutions.

  • May 21 — introductory workshop by hackathon partners in the Center of Strategic Initiatives “ASI”

Participants meet each other, join introductory workshops from technical partners about smart city technologies. Hackathon tracks are presented.

  • May 22–30 — online stage

Participants meet mentors, actively communicate with hackathon partners in order to explore specific features of tracks and relevant fields for research in more detail. Teams are formed and registered. Participants decide which track to participate in.

  • May 31 — June 2 — main offline stage in “GrowUp” coworking

During 48 hours participants will be developing solution prototypes in tracks chosen in advance.

The prize pool of the hackathon is 500,000 rubles; partners and track sponsors will also provide special prizes in each category. Hackathon participants will also profit from a valuable opportunity to establish contact with representatives and HR of leading corporations and state institutions for further collaboration.

Last year Evercity successfully held the first Russian Energy Blockchain Hackathon within international Climathon initiative. The event was supported by Hevel Solar, Schneider Electric, EDF, PJSC “Rosseti”, NP “Market Counсil” etc. You can learn more about the results here.
