Dear Community Members,

With 2023 just started, EverdreamSoft is taking a step back to look at some of the key achievements that we made in the past year including new version releases, an SoG exhibition, our first metaverse experiences and the launch of Wakweli our brand new Web3 project.

Since our founding in 2010, through all the highs and also the lows of the ecosystem, EDS has stood the test of time and we are more than happy to continue to be there with you with exciting projects in 2023 and beyond! But for now let’s have a look at what happened in 2022 👀.

Spells of Genesis

MOBILE GAME

In 2022, Spells of Genesis (SoG) released its new version including an improved UX and UI design that enhanced the user’s game experience. Moreover, to celebrate the 5th anniversary of SoG’s public release, a new campaign has been launched with the possibility of winning 7 EPIC cards.

▶️ A lot of visual and graphic improvements have been made including a brand new leaderboard visual
▶️ Game feel updates (enemy attack & hits, impact on crates, hole animation…)
▶️ Enemy attack strength is now displayed
▶️ The possibility to drag and drop cards in your team deck is activated
▶️ Card upgrade preview

▶️SoG blockchainized cards can now be withdrawn on Casa Tookan. Please reinstall the app to make it work.

▶️ We are our own publisher since June
▶️ We did a server migration and improvements

PLAYERSTATE

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of the public release of Spells of Genesis, we also created a PlayerState challenge where the community was invited to design a new in-game card illustration along with a title and very short descriptive text of the card’s history. We received a lot of submissions and 3 winners have been selected, including Rey, DoggfatherCrew and LordAntHreX

Rey, the lucky winner, had the chance to see its illustration integrated in the game.

SoG Exhibition

From October 8th 2022 to January 15th 2023 Spells of Genesis cards were displayed in the famous Cumulonimbus Murus (2022) wall created by Martin Lukas Ostachowski (alias @MLOdotArt) during the DYOR Crypto Art exhibition at Kunsthalle Zurich. This wall was a multi-media installation highlighting the crypto art milestones. It carefully traced back the origins and defined and contextualized the movement that acted as a catalyst for digital art. Spells of Genesis history’s descriptions were a key point of this wall and 4 of the most famous cards (SATOSHICARD, WHEREBCYCARD, BEARWHALE & DOGECARD) were displayed in the central glass cabinet. As you know, Spells of Genesis’ blockchain cards all have very special meanings as they are allegories of real life events that were happening at the time in the crypto-sphere. With his Cumulonimbus Murus art project, Martin Lukas Ostachowski wanted to present the Spells of Genesis cards next to their real life event picture.

Orb Explorer

In March 2022, we released the Orb Explorer Migration by creating a React framework that has a more modern and attractive design. This step was essential for our deposit-withdrawal feature release that took place in April.

As a quick reminder, this new feature allows you to withdraw your Spells of Genesis (SoG) cards on Counterparty, Ethereum and Klaytn chains, according to your favorite choice or need. The transaction’s fees are paid in BitCrystals.

Metaverse

TheSandBox
Throughout 2022, Spells of Genesis took a major step into the metaverse by participating in TheSandBox key events such as the Premium LAND sale in February, 2 NFT drops in April and September and we ended the year in style with our Askian Door experience that took place during Alpha Season 3.

Premium LAND sale
On February 10th took place the exclusive Premium LAND sale around EverdreamSoft Estate. The Sandbox community were able to purchase a digital piece of real-estate, which entitles them to exclusive NFTs by EverdreamSoft (iconic 3D BearWhale) and from its Sandbox neighbors, Blackpool, Apes of Space, eToro and Mad Mecha. The Five NFTs were bundled with the Premium LANDs.

NFT Collection
In collaboration with Nabiya studio, we created a series of 14 voxelized NFTs including 8 iconic characters from SoG such as Satoshi the Creator of Blockchain and Sir of the Ether. These NFTs were released on April 13th @ 3pm UTC.

Askian-Door Social Hub (ALPHA SEASON 3)
SoG took the next step in its Metaverse push in The Sandbox through its Spells of Genesis — Asian Door Social Hub where players came face-to-face with their favorite in-game characters while collecting hidden Satoshi Blocks spread across the SoG metaverse and exploring spots of interest. 136K players had the chance to experience the hub and had a fantastic time! It was very encouraging to receive all your positive feedback. We put a lot of time and effort into designing and curating the social hub, and we’re delighted that the users enjoyed it as much as we had hoped!

Second NFT collection
In addition to enabling a more interactive user experience, the iconic Spells of Genesis NFT collection returned to The Sandbox Marketplace and 10 brand new NFTs were added to the collection. Same as for the first collection, all people owning a NFT from these collections will have access to all upcoming exclusives experiences on the EverdreamSoft Estate.

CRYPTOVOXELS

While our collaboration with The Sandbox was certainly a major component of our metaverse push last year, we also placed significant attention on CryptoVoxels.

NFT Museum
We launched in April an NFT History Museum exhibiting vintage SoG cards and various top industry-renowned NFT collections, providing an immersive representation of interconnected universes and experiences.

SoG Showroom

We launched in May a Showroom dedicated to Spells of Genesis where users can explore the history and concept of the game and view impressive and imposing statues of their favorite SoG characters. To celebrate this launch, we held the first Metaverse SoG party on May 13th where the community was invited to visit the showroom and meet Shaban Shaame avatar, EverdreamSoft’s Founder & CEO.

Finally, we wanted to show our appreciation to our community and end the year on a high note, so we decided to host a special Christmas party in our SoG showroom. We felt that this was the perfect way to celebrate the season and thank our players for their continued support.

We were thrilled with the turnout and the positive feedback we received from our attendees. It was a truly magical experience to celebrate the holidays together in a virtual setting, and we were delighted to be able to provide this opportunity to our community

Overall, we hope that our Christmas party in the metaverse was a memorable and enjoyable experience for all who attended. We look forward to continuing to engage with our SoG players in new and exciting ways, both in the metaverse and beyond.

Wakweli

A big focus in 2022 was also on our brand new Web3 project named Wakweli.

Wakweli is an infrastructure protocol based on a decentralized consensus algorithm that issues certificates of authenticity for NFTs and tokenized assets to secure the Web3 ecosystem.

Unfortunately, the web3 ecosystem is plagued by numerous scams leading to a lack of trust within the community, a loss of income for collectors and artists and high costs for asset verification on NFT marketplaces.

Wakweli solves these problems by increasing security and trust for all participants, protecting assets and their creators from scams, reducing verification costs and workforce for NFT marketplaces, and facilitating NFT transactions by securing buyers from scams.

In 2022, we developed the Wakweli demo and refined the Proof of Democracy concept. We also developed our brand strategy and visual identity in addition to improving our whitepaper & deck. A new website and social media accounts were launched in December.

We also had the great opportunity to onboard 11 advisors and formalized 6 partnerships.

Events

Finally, in 2022, we attended 11 international events in order to promote Wakweli & Spells of Genesis. We had the opportunity to meet very interesting people, companies, VCs etc.
