Growing together

I’ve been invited to the ZeroDistance Excellence Awards in Qingdao this week. It’s a recognition of our innovative work here in Australia, and we’re thrilled to be included.

This award stands apart from others; it’s not about paying for recognition, it’s about genuine innovation. It’s hosted by a true giant in the field, Zhang Ruimin of Haier, who has championed decentralized decision-making, empowerment, and customer intimacy on a massive scale.

Reading about Haier’s journey and comparing it to our own at Everest reveals striking similarities. We’re certainly smaller in scale, but we share the same unwavering focus on accountability, leadership at all levels, and the relentless pursuit of value.

What I admire most about Everest is our collective commitment to achieving exceptional outcomes for both our clients and their end users. This often requires us to challenge the status quo, which can lead to tension. We’ve developed a coaching strategy to address this, encouraging everyone to “meet people where they are and learn together.”

From the beginning, our priority at Everest was to build a company that people truly love to work for. We wanted to foster fulfilling careers and become a valued partner in our ecosystem.

As we evolve, this mission remains at our core, but we’re refining our focus on being that great partner. It’s evolving from just delivering frontline value, to actively helping organizations transform their cultures, discover what “great” truly means, and ultimately, rediscover the joy in their work — even amidst the challenges of recent times.
