EverLife on Substrate + Polkadot

Excited to announce development of EVER chain on Substrate and this being connected as a Parachain eventually to the Polkadot network.

This would mean an EverLife Avatar can interact with multiple chains and tap into the eco system across Stellar, Polkadot and Ethereum while having our own chain in Substrate and using Secure Scuttlebutt for retaining memories and knowledge of the Avatar.

Substrate allows for its assembly in a modular and future-proof way, where we can easily maintain the network and collaborate with the community to develop and share new modules. It’s also a self-amending ledger, which means that the network can upgrade itself, add new features, or deploy bug-fixes in a matter of minutes, all without having to fork it.

Substrate Blockchain Framework

Substrate is a good technical fit for EverLife.AI. By building on top of this framework, we can leverage the extensive functionality that Substrate includes out-of-the-box, rather than building it ourselves. This includes peer-to-peer networking, consensus mechanisms, governance functionality, an EVM implementation, and more.

Overall, using Substrate will dramatically reduce the time and implementation effort needed to implement EVER chain. Substrate allows a great degree of customization, which is necessary in order to achieve our Ethereum + Stellar compatibility goals. And, by using Rust, we benefit from both safety guarantees and performance gains.

Polkadot Network and Ecosystem

The Polkadot network is also a good fit for EverLife.AI. As a parachain on Polkadot, EverLife.AI will be able to directly integrate with — and move tokens between — any other parachains and parathreads on the network.

We can also leverage any of the bridges that are independently built to connect non-Polkadot chains to Polkadot, including bridges to Ethereum and Stellar. Polkadot’s interoperability model uniquely supports EverLife.AI’s cross-chain integration goals and is a key enabling technology to support the EverLife.AI vision.
