#15 — The Islander — Nightwish
There was a period in my life in which i listened this song many times.
I think it remains beautiful with his celtic-northern style. The flute and the drums reminds me of a storm, then the takeoff with the singer who starts singing (lovely timbre) with only the acoustic base. And finally the chorus which it’s like a rebel scream in the storm.
I always appreciate the chorus of this song, with the two powerful voices, one deep and one sweet. I think it’s the only song of Nightwish without metal sounds or electric guitars.
“This is for long-forgotten
Light at the end of the world
The tears he left behind long ago..”
It’s always a pleasure listen to it.
