It was such a thrill to see Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor play at the Horse Guards Parade Saturday night. They didn’t just win, they dominated a very good Netherlands team to advance to the quarterfinals in beach volleyball. Kerri and Misty are, of course, two time Olympic beach volleyball champions, but there have been a lot of changes since they won gold in Beijing. Kerri is now a mom of 2 young boys: Joseph, born in 2009, and Sundance, born in 2010. Her boys are in London with her and love cheering for their mom. While balancing the roles of being mom to two toddlers and defending Olympic champion isn’t always easy, Kerri is determined to prove it can be done. As her own mom, Margie Walsh, recently said in an interview posted on ivllage.com, Kerri “wants to show all the moms it can be done and she wants to have all the moms proud of her and inspired by her, like she’s inspired by them.” Well, we are inspired by you Kerri and will be cheering for you and Misty as you go for a record third consecutive gold.
