Kerri Walsh Jennings Cherishes Motherhood
Olympic mom Kerri Walsh Jennings took home gold in Monday’s Beach Volleyball match against the Czech Republic. Jennings and partner Misty May Treanor battled a 21–14, 21–19 victory against their opponents, scoring the gold-medalist duo their 16th consecutive Olympic victory. With Kerri’s continued successes on the court, we wonder how she balances her demanding training and competing schedules and also being a dedicated wife and mother of two children. Kerri enthusiastically discusses this juggle in a recent interview with NBC Olympics, explaining how “the balancing act of motherhood and a career, and being a wife, is something that I don’t think I’ll ever perfect, but I love the challenge of it. It’s the best thing in the world, the most challenging thing in the world, being a parent.” Kerri’s advice to mothers is clear: “ One of the first lessons I learned was to ask for help. I think that’s something all mothers could probably do a little bit more of, because there are so many people out there willing to help, so just ask for it.”
We continue to cheer Kerri and Misty May on as they prepare for their upcoming match against Austria on August 1st!
