The News From Ireland Regarding Abortion and Medical Emergencies

Last month we kicked up some dust by writing about a passionate subject — abortion rights.

Today, one particular headline demonstrates that people in leadership positions are beginning to pay attention, to look at the subject without their usual knee-jerk reaction and are reevaluating intransigent positions.

The case surrounding the death of a young woman suffering an inevitable miscarriage who was denied an abortion despite increasing pain, infection and life threatening complications was met with horror around the world. A mother had to die before Ireland was willing to consider whether their laws were causing farm more harm than good.
