The Child-free Woman and Work

Design by Chiara Aliotta at Until Sunday

This is a sample chapter from my forthcoming book, I’d Rather Get a Cat and Save the Planet: Conversations with Child-free Women

I remember when I worked in an office, watching the endless stream of young girls follow the same formulaic path. First the engagement; showing off the ring, congratulations all round. Then the wedding; desk gets decorated, everyone goes on the hen night, congratulations all round

The contentedly childfree life is the least observed, and the least discussed. These essays and observations are my humble attempt to change that.
