Take yourself back to a typical work day, sometime before the pandemic…

Maybe you long for those days, but stick with me for a couple of minutes. Take a deeper look. What did it feel like? How did you spend your time? What was the culture like?

How often did you find yourself marveling, thinking You’ve got to be kidding me? What?? That makes no sense.

I’ll take a stab at where your head might be going:

Too many meetings. Mixed messages. Everything is a priority. Style over substance. Status quo. Talk about innovation…but landing back at status quo. The list could go on for a while…

All of us, the whole planet, have different lives today than we had at the turn of the decade. If the scientists are right (and we tend to defer to science), things are going to be different for a long time.

Can this be the opportunity to make serious, real progress on what is truly valuable in work culture? Can this be the opportunity for us to find more fulfillment and joy in our work lives? To be more creative? More compassionate? To focus on the long term? Can this be our chance to stop the “this is how it’s done” norms and shift to actions that provide genuine long term value?

Our answers are “Yes, yes. Yes and yes and yes.”

What do we want the post-pandemic culture to look like?

In this series, we’ll explore this topic: What does a meaningful life look like and how do we put that into action? We hope that you find food for thought and practical ideas to help yourself, and your work culture, move past the norms of how it used to be done. We hope you find a community of people willing to make change to create work environments that take a deeper view into culture, the status quo, and true wellbeing.
