According to data from the National Institute of Mental Health, some 38 percent of girls ages 13 through 17, and 26 percent of boys, have an anxiety disorder. Anxiety has become so popularized it has become our everyday argot. Anxiety is starting to seem like a sociological condition. Potential Treatment for Postpartum Depression

A promising treatment for Postpartum depression could be available soon. Researchers at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine published the results of a phase 2 clinical trial. According to Samantha Meltzer-Brody, M.D., M.P.H., director of the Perinatal Psychiatry Program at the UNC School of Medicine these results are nothing she has seen before. Singer Katty Perry gets real with fans about her struggle with mental health. It sure was surprising to me to learn that this famous, spunky, “I Kissed A Girl” singer had attempted suicide. We see these famous people on tv and we fail to realize that behind the makeup, wig and money there is an actual person with their own identity. Katty Perry did a live therapy session with Dr. Siri Singh to bring awareness to mental health and how songwriting helps her cope with suicidal ideations.
