During a theological discussion with a friend I mentioned off-hand that, we both being family men, our families are the most likely idols present in our lives. The next day my friend was very somber, dejected even. He said he’d been thinking about whether or not he idolized his wife and kids, and sees how he could be in danger of doing so.

is a double entendre. On the one hand, the subtitle suggest that the gospel is down-to-earth. It is genuine. It is on the same wave-length that we are.
