5. Antony Davis

Nothing “new” about New Orleans this year Davis is putting up his usual numbers and will be in the MVP talk. But Davis has to play close to perfect on a night-to-night basis for the Pelicans to win. Davis averaging 28 points and 13 rebounds a night all while shooting above the halfway mark. Maybe this will be the year that Davis decides its time to move on from the Pelicans.

4. Lebron James

In my opinion Lebron will move up as the season goes on. Watching him through the first ten games made it look like he did not care if he came down with the win but Lebron has started to turn it on. He has been in a lot more iso situations and has been finishing at the whole. The Lakers are starting to win and you should never doubt the king.

3. Joel Embiid

Embiid fits perfectly into the Sixers system. He is a low post star and can also step out and shoot it from the three point line. It looks like Joel has finally struck consistency averaging more minutes that Lebron. While this is all great there is still so much more he can improve upon which makes the process so much more exciting.

2. Kevin Durant

The Warriors have a lot of injuries but Durant has been a steady stream of offense. Now that Curry is back Durant will probably not average 30 points a game. Even averaging these crazy numbers Durant can still be more consistent and will have to be because he will start getting less touches as the season goes on.

  1. Giannis Antetokounmpo

Giannis is the perfect outlier and proof that not everyone needs a 3-point shot. Giannis is finishing at the rim better than anyone in the league no one has the mix of length and speed to defend Giannis and his court vision allows him to have the ball in his hands more often. The Bucks formula has been dominating this season and they will be an interesting team in the playoffs.
