When Eve returned to complete her look at the pragmaticist writings of Peirce, she realized she had worked her way through what she wanted to wrestle with in his text. But she was not ready to join her fellow triadicists in trying to get the message refined and set down.
She was wrestling as she sat at Will’s old desk and faced the premonition she was having.
Eve had had visitations before. She was no stranger to the mystical. She had a sense of ins and outs and enough sense to know that her experience was hers. It was universal only in the possibility of an experiential unity behind all such encounters. That lay, she assumed, in mystery, real but not discovered yet. Or was that so?
