24 EVE — WORK
The problem was work. Work and time. You could spend years working away and it would have no worth. You could build. But how much of anything was sheer illusion. One could have a seat in a monster building up toward the sky and be nothing in the scheme of things. What would make a difference, What would resonate. What would tell. What had power. Was power after the fact? Something became powerful. Grew in power. What made it grow? Eve was hornswoggled. The word meant cheated. But for Eve it meant a state of helplessness, of being at a loss. She continued to feel at loose ends.; Hornswoggled. She wanted badly to look at something she was doing and saying, “That’s good, no matter what!”
But she knew. She thought of Will. Dead and gone now, But maybe not gone. Was that it? Did she need some reassurance. Maybe a medium who could tell her something. She thought hard. And then she knew. It was all her. It was her and consciousness, nowness.
