A Theory of Heaven and Hell 7

Stephen C. Rose
Everything Comes

--

A a huge step past all prior thought

Heaven and creation wrought

On a journey that proceeds

Wherever it leads

2

To our conscious identity

Add Peirce’s continuity

Mix in teleology

Is this the sum of heavenly

3

Consider fallibility

Consider fraying friendships

Consider personality

Forgive us all our our slips

4

Imagine life continuing

Heaven as evolving

Imagine our world opening

See heaven as becoming

5

My friend’s grief was visible

Writ deeply in his eyes

War, self-slaughter terrible

A world at times despised

6

But now my friend is unified

One with Abba growing

Still he lashes out with pride

As though unforgiving

7

Which seems to say heaven nor earth

Seek after perfection

They take us as we all must be

Free to set direction
